We held a Wiki Loves Pride event at the National Library of Ireland in June 2026, a room full of people - many of them editing Wikipedia for the first time - created 3 new articles, edited dozens more, and added over 4,000 words of Irish queer history to the public record.

Just in one afternoon!

We're building on that. Starting in August, Wikimedia Community Ireland is launching a regular LGBT+ Wikipedia editing group - a dedicated, welcoming space for anyone who wants to help improve how LGBTQ+ history, culture, and community is represented on Wikipedia and Vicipéid.

If you missed the event, but still want to get involved you are more than welcome.

No experience needed.
Just sign up!

We're creating a regular space to edit, learn, and build the record - together!

What to expect:

  • Regular meet-up group for online and in-person Wiki editing sessions and LGBT+ history dicussions.
  • A supportive community of editors who care about the same things you do
  • Guidance, resources, and peer support
  • Real, lasting impact: everything you edit is published live.

Sign up below and we'll be in touch with details for our first session in August.

We'll only use your email to share details of the editing group and related WCI events.
    You can unsubscribe any time.

By signing up you agree to abide by the Wikimedia Community Ireland Safe Space Policy.
We are committed to creating a welcoming and respectful space for all participants.
